About the Role
The System Engineer oversees end-to-end readiness, integration, and validation of drone platforms. This role acts as the “technical glue” between hardware, electronics, communication systems, and software teams.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage daily operational workflows, ensuring all systems run reliably and efficiently.
- Oversee procurement, vendor management, supply chain continuity, and inventory control.
- Lead planning and execution of manufacturing and assembly pipelines.
- Troubleshoot operational and system issues in real time, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes.
- Optimize cross-team communication between engineering, production, and support teams.
- Own deployment and release processes with an emphasis on stability and minimal downtime.
- Create and run structured “test days” and operational readiness reviews.
- Define, track, and improve KPIs for operational performance and product reliability.
Quality Assurance (QA)
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and regression frameworks for hardware and software components.
- Lead functional, integration, performance, and environmental testing.
- Document defects, track resolutions, and enforce quality standards across product lines.
- Establish and maintain QA procedures aligned with industry standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100—if applicable).
- Implement test automation where relevant (Python/Bash preferred).
- Manage QA team workflows, priorities, and deliverables.
Team Leadership
- Lead a team of five across operations and QA functions.
- Mentor team members, provide performance feedback, and support professional development.
Participate in hiring and scaling the operations/QA organization.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong background in operations management and QA methodologies.
- Proven experience managing teams and cross-functional operational workflows.
- Experience with manual and automated testing tools.
- Familiarity with system monitoring, deployment pipelines, and operational best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, embedded systems, and software environments.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (advantage).
- Experience in operational support for hardware/software systems.
- Hands-on experience with scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and monitoring.
- Background in electronics, embedded systems, UAVs, or communication systems is a strong advantage.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, procurement workflows, and supply chain reliability.
